A surge of creative energy from individuals merges into a stream of loosely connected stories.
Years of organic collaboration between five authors have given rise to a twisted cinematic collage in which the employees of Televize Estráda, during a company race, undergo their own personal spiritual cleansing.
Televize Estráda is an artistic collective that blends puppet theater, film, performance, and other media formats into a single interconnected fictional world. This universe is inhabited by the television employees themselves, along with distinctive characters such as production manager Karel, content dramaturg Kamil, the Guardian Angel, Uncle Grácio, Mr. Limetka, the Naked Man, and the kind-hearted media mogul František Jelínek. Televize Estráda’s material collage repertoire includes everything from miniature bottles of liquor to a Lamborghini with a 3D-printed body.
The backgrounds alternate between real-world exteriors, handcrafted sets, and computer-generated effects.
At the core of Televize Estráda’s spectacle across its various projects is live-action puppet theater, shamelessly combining uncompromising beer-fueled humor with an eye for detail. Despite its diversity, Televize Estráda’s work remains accessible to audiences and, in the context of animated film, makes no distinction between the gourmet and the gourmand. (PAF Olomouc 2024)
The Galerie Kontext exhibition cycle is now in its second year of collaboration with the screening hall of Kino CIT. This year, the exhibition program will focus primarily on DIY filmmaking approaches and storytelling through hyperbole and irony. Alongside a month-long screening of the blockbuster Rally Televize Estráda, visitors can snap a photo in the Galerie Kontext corridors with fan-favorite Jiří Brambor as he leaps through a burning car, get their cast peed on by Alois Strážný, or shop for souvenirs at Mrs. Květa’s store (ArtMap Bookstore).
